Getafe vs Athletic Bilbao

SUNDAY, JANUARY 8, 2012
Time: 15:00 GMT
                       Venue : Coliseum Alfonso Pérez

Getafe have nosedived and this will provide the visitors with the chance to win this match and above all erase that cloud of inconsistency when they’re away from San Mames. The visitors have been poor away from home. Bearing in mind that we’re talking about team that’s lying in the 6th rung of the very tough La Liga. But there’s no denying that they have made great strides in that direction of late. That 1-2 loss to Barcelona at the Nou Camp was indeed an excellent showing and they confirm their good form when they beat Sevilla 2-0 at home.
Home team Getafe has not won since that 4-1 home win over Deportivo on the 06-02-11. In fact that had been their only win since the New Year and they chalked up 1-4-6 in their last 11 matches. In that current form they will find the visitors camping at their goalmouth for most of the time as they will have Llorente (15 goals to his credit) to spearhead their attacks.

Bilbao are holding onto that last ticket to the Europa League via the La Liga and they are just 2 points above Atletico Madrid. The visitors will come to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez riding on that thought that they have trounced their hosts 3-0 at home and they ought not find too much problem emulating that feat, what with the UEFA ticket at stake.
The home side is currently at the possibility of being sucked into the relegation zone and they will be under great pressure to deliver the needed result to turn their fortune around. However, up against Bilbao in their current form, their attempt looks to be futile.
Getafe need this match win to equal point table with Athletic Bilbao.
